- BETA TESTER'S BULLETIN
-
-
- 9-25-87
- -------
- Well, we have issued another NM beta release to tighten up the new
- handshake code somewhat. I hope this version works more reliably.
- It should be downward compatible. NMBETA15.ARC is now ready.
-
-
- 9-23-87
- -------
- First, work on the package has ceased, except for emergency repairs.
- We are real busy trying to get things ready to ship at the end of the
- month. I hope you all understand that your "wish lists" cannot be
- addressed at this time. They will be, please be patient.
-
- There is a new NM Beta ready tonight. It is a bug fix release. I hope
- it helps with some of the mail accumulations that have been taking place.
- NMBETA14.ARC is now available.
-
-
- 9-20-87
- -------
- The final, final version of GT 13.00 beta is ready. BETA7.ARC is now
- available for D/L. It includes several new things, including a beta test
- key to unlock the usage counter and support for Ymodem-G protocol.
- Enjoy.
-
-
- 9-18-87
- -------
- A new version of MDRIVER is available. WARNING: It should not be used
- until all sites have a chance to install it at the same time. It uses
- a new handshake method to identify callers during the netmail hour.
- This is faster for handling human callers and also faster to handle the
- regular netmail callers. But unfortunately is not downward compatible.
-
-
- 9-15-87
- -------
- The final BETA release of GT POWER 13.00 is now ready. Of course,
- there may be bug fixes, but no new features. Not even cosmetic items
- will find their way past this point. Please read the INSTALL.DOC and
- report any problems asap. Thanks for your kind help.
-
-
- 9-14-87
- -------
- I think I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Who said that?
- Well, I think I can see that light. Another NM beta release fixes
- some more problems and puts the finishing touches on the "Stale
- Mail" processing. NMBETA13.ARC is ready now.
-
-
- 9-13-87
- -------
- Another bug fix for NM Beta. Boy, I hope this thing evens out soon.
- If it doesn't, I may have to stop taking phone calls. I spent more
- time yakking to beta testers today, than I did working on this lame
- excuse for code. So please bear with me.
-
-
- 9-12-87
- -------
- Well, the beta testers are earning their way in this test. The NM
- beta test has been full of bugs. Here is another bug fix release -
- NMBETA11.ARC is now ready.
-
-
-
- 9-07-87
- -------
- The final NMBETA release (except for bug fixes, of course) is now
- ready for release. This version introduces many changes in the
- ROUTING.BBS file, mostly in the nature of additional capabilities,
- so please read the BETA.DOC before running the programs.
-
-
-
- 9-02-87
- -------
- New beta code for the IBM and compatibles is being released today.
- The BETA5.ARC includes bug fixes and a new command line parameter,
- /RB for those who wish GT to answer on a "ring back" scheme.
-
-
- 8-28-87
- -------
- New beta code for the IBM and compatibles is being released today.
- The BETA4.ARC contains some important changes, so please read the
- docs carefully before installing the program. NMBETA6.ARC contains
- some minor changes to both MDRIVER and MBAGGER. Enjoy!
-
- Also, the FOSSIL version of the netmail code is being released today.
- Go get it, Bob! Good luck, and let me know how it goes. See James
- for a node number...
-
-
- 8-27-87
- -------
- The beta code for GT in FOSSIL format is being made available today. It
- is intended for non-compatible users, such as the Tandy 2000 owners.
- Of course, you may download it if you wish, but it is not necessary. I
- believe that Bob Juge is our only FOSSIL beta tester. Good Luck, Bob.
- I should have a FOSSIL version of MDRIVER soon, I will start on it
- tomorrow.
-
-
- 8-21-87
- -------
- The beta test is due to begin tomorrow. There are some changes I would
- like to point out: (1) we have changed the name of the product to "GT POWER"
- and (2) we have gone to version 13.00. The name change was made necessary
- by the conflict with Polytron Corp. over the trademark "PowerCom". Hopefully
- the word POWER is not a trademark. Anyone who would like to participate in
- the GT NetMail system, please call "James Davis' Retreat", Jim will assign
- the required Net/Node numbers and will make available the required NODELIST.
-
- Please note that the latest files related to the beta test will be kept in
- a new directory. The old beta tester's file area is still around, but I
- want to try something different. The files will be located in the NetMail
- File Request Area (which is also a file area under the BBS). So you can get
- the latest files either by .FR on the NetMail system or by calling in and
- D/L from that area.
-
- Thanks,
- Paul
